Terms of Service
Last updated: July 26, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Gitship, the social media scheduling service available at gitship.dev, operated from France (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are using Gitship on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2. The service
Gitship connects to your GitHub account, reads metadata from the repositories you select (commit messages, pull request titles, release notes), helps you draft posts about your work — including with AI assistance — and publishes those posts to the social accounts you connect: X, LinkedIn, Threads, and Reddit. Features vary by plan; see Pricing.
3. Your account
You sign in with GitHub and must keep that account secure — anything done through your session is your responsibility. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher.
One person or company per account. You may connect multiple social accounts within the limits of your plan.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Gitship to:
- publish content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights;
- spam — mass unsolicited posting, engagement manipulation, or automation that violates a platform's rules;
- violate the terms of X, LinkedIn, Meta (Threads), Reddit, or GitHub;
- probe, overload, or disrupt the service, or access it by any means other than the interfaces we provide;
- resell the service without our written agreement.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, with notice when practical.
5. Your content
Everything you write, upload, or publish through Gitship remains yours. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service: storing your drafts and media, processing them, and transmitting them to the platforms you chose, when you chose. Nothing more.
You are responsible for what you publish. AI-generated drafts are suggestions based on your repository activity — review them before they go out; nothing is published without your approval or a schedule you set.
6. Connected platforms
Publishing depends on third-party platforms we do not control. Their APIs change, rate-limit, and occasionally fail; a post may be delayed or rejected by the destination platform. We surface errors when it happens, but we cannot guarantee delivery, reach, or the continued availability of any platform integration.
7. Plans and payment
The Free plan includes 30 posts per month. Pro is billed monthly through Stripe, and you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your dashboard. Billing details — renewals, refunds, failed payments — are in our Billing terms.
8. Availability and warranty
We work to keep Gitship fast and reliable, but the service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We may add, change, or remove features. We are not liable for missed publishing windows, lost reach, or anything a connected platform does with your account or content.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect damages — lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Termination
You can stop using Gitship and delete your account at any time — see our data deletion instructions. We may suspend or terminate the service for breach of these terms, or shut the service down entirely with at least 30 days' notice, in which case any prepaid, unused period is refunded.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes, we will notify you — in the app or by email — at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Gitship after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by French law, and disputes go to the competent courts of France, without depriving you of protections that mandatorily apply where you live. Questions: legal@gitship.dev.
